Founder/ President

Kimberly Edwards

My formative years in my hometown East St. Louis, IL, shaped my desire to serve struggling communities, educate students, and eliminate poverty among economically disadvantaged families. In 2020, I received the God-inspired vision for Propel Scholars Award. I am excited about this mission because it rallies allies together for the common goal of helping students in vulnerable communities move towards personal and professional success.

I am a proud supporter of the Propel Scholars Award because I believe that education is a tool that can never be stolen or diminished instead, it is a tool that increases one's value and boosts self-worth.   I also believe partnering with PSA has allowed me to be a part of Kingdom work by equipping people with the necessary tools to fulfill their purpose and destiny.

Growing up in an underserved and challenged community has increased my awareness of the importance of education and its impact on lives. I know first-hand how the opportunity to receive an education can save individuals and break generational cycles of poverty. As a young professional, I am passionate about impacting youth.  The purpose of Propel Scholars Award aligns with the vision I have for students from communities like mine.

Education has the potential to change the trajectory of individuals as well as entire communities. As a young professional and recent college graduate myself, the mission of the Propel Scholars Award (PSA) mission resonates with me.  PSA not only makes college more affordable, but also equips scholars with life skills that support their success in the future.

For many, education is the passport to a better future, however the financial gap can be a barrier that may be too great to overcome.  By providing scholarship opportunities, we can remove the financial burden and propel students toward achieving their college and career goals. I'm honored to continue to do the work of increasing the high school to college pipeline and change our world, one student at a time.

I am a first-generation college graduate who believes acquiring a higher education can improve social and economic equity. I am honored to partner with Propel Scholars Award (PSA) to help students living in underserved communities remove the financial barrier to college.
